In combination with cribbing blocks, climbing jacks are able to overcome the lift height limitations of a cylinder’s plunger stroke length. The double-acting cylinders are specially designed for lifting, lowering and holding a load. The climbing jacks base and tilt saddle are integral to stage lifting operations. The double-acting cylinder is affixed to a steel base for stability and safety. The plunger’s title saddle helps prevent side loading. Capacity per lifting point: 55 - 220 tons Stroke per stage: 5.91 - 6.34 inches The Akkerwinde Bridge over the A7 motorway in the Netherlands was constructed on the ground, lifted up in stages, held and lowered onto an abutment with double-acting Climbing Jacks and a 4-point Synchronous Lifting System. Standard stage lifting operation. Step 1 The Climbing Jack is placed on a solid support under the load (retracted plunger). Step 2 Plunger extends, lifting the load and giving clearance to insert two outer blocks under the spreading plate. Step 3 Plunger retracts, giving clearance to position the central blocks which will support the plunger plate for the next extension. Step 4 Plunger extends, lifting the load, giving clearance to insert two new blocks, placed crosswise under the spreading plate. Recommended Pumps The SFP-Series Split Flow Pumps have multiple outlets with equal oil flow. A split flow pump can provide control of up to 6 points with manual control. The EVO-Series Synchronous Lifting Systems have a stage lift work mode which simplifies the lifting operations during each stage. A SyncLift can control up to 12 points with automatic control.
